The APPG's statement from last Thursday on the crisis in eastern DRC is now up on the APPG website www.appggreatlakes.org. Their recent report on violence against women in that region reports that is is on the increase - please pray for safety for innocent civilians during the conflict.
Christian Aid have launched an appeal in response the to crisis. Please see www.christianaid.org.uk/congo for more details.
Nyankunde Attack
On 15th October 2008 Nyankunde was threatened by clashes between rebels and government troops. No civilians were hurt although there was some opportunistic looting which caused a tense few days for the hospital and nursing staff, and the villagers. MONUC troops evacuated many to safety. Hospital services and the Nursing School have since resumed and patients have started returning. We thank God for His protection over the village. For more information please see this summary page .
